Reimagining Kindness Together; Changing the Merrimack Valley Forever

Past

Past

We began with an idea during the COVID-19 pandemic. The simple thought was that people would need a safe community space to connect and share needs that others might be able to fill. We hoped for a few hundred to join the Facebook Group, but it became thousands within weeks.
Our Story

Present

Present

We are a diverse community of kindhearted people 10,000+ strong in the Merrimack Valley reimagining kindness together and creating over 100,000 kind acts since we started in 2020. This is FUN!

Future

Future

We are expanding rapidly with strategic partnerships and innovative programs that will spread more kindness to more people, faster and more efficiently.
Get Involved

We are a true collaboration of nearly 10,000 individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities across the Merrimack Valley region of Massachusetts. Everyone works together to contribute items, talent, time, effort, tasks, and skills to positively impact the community. Together, we create a powerful force of good, spreading kindness and community support wherever it is needed throughout the region. We have experienced firsthand that β€œthe whole is greater than the sum of its parts” (Aristotle).

5 PROGRAMS; ENDLESS VOLUNTEERING POSSIBILITIES

Infinite is an understatement when we refer to the ways one person or group can volunteer at TKC. The Kindness Collaborative IS volunteering – stepping up and stepping into action by the community for the community in myriad ways. We invite individuals, groups, associations, businesses, clubs, and organizations to make a real impact on our culture.

It's cold out there and many who are living outside went without the Thanksgiving meal we all had on Thursday.

Thanks to a partnership between TKC, Village Food Hub , and Merrimack Valley Dream Center we handed out about 140 meals today including dozens of Thanksgiving dinners donated by Village Food Hub for this effort (thank you Shari Taylor McLeod)!!!

The rest of the meals were prepared and donated by Jeanne Lo, Maureen Furneaux Kane, Finn Ryan/Jen Yapp, & Kim Durgin!!! Thank you all so much for feeding so many on this cold day πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

The recipients were so appreciative!

www.facebook.com/100090559351379/posts/277054788656498/?d=n&mibextid=qC1gEaThis week, the Village Food Hub provided 250 full Thanksgiving dinners to people in need. It was our first event of this kind, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to find new ways to fight food insecurity in our community. The success of this program wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful collaboration between our team, Wellesley Restaurant Group, Ballard Vale United Church, West Parish Church, and our amazing volunteers.

During this Thanksgiving week, several local groups and families also dropped off substantial contributions of food for the pantry. With food insecurity rates for children in Andover climbing another 12% this year, the need is extremely high. We are so thankful for the community efforts to help keep our pantry stocked!

Over the next few months, we have many new opportunities to rescue food that could help provide much needed nourishment to families in need, but we need additional volunteers to make it a reality. Please consider joining us to help our neighbors who are hungry.

Village Food Hub wishes you and yours a very happy holiday season!
